Muscle Up Charity Car & Bike Show, Canberra

I would like to let you know about a car show our charity is holding.  We hope to make it a great day with something for everyone.  I’ve enclosed a leaflet we have produced which has a brief description of the event and our organisation.

The facebook link to the event is: https://www.facebook.com/events/1982416712029093/

The day is called the Muscle Up Charity Car and Bike Show as a reference to the disease our charity works to overcome: muscular dystrophy.  This disease has many forms but all cause muscle wasting and in its most severe forms such as Duchennes, it severely impacts and shortens the life of young children.  There is no cure for muscular dystrophy.  Our work aims to improve the everyday lives of people living with muscular dystrophy.

Capital Region Muscular Dystrophy is a voluntary organisation and all proceeds from this event will go towards our work.  This includes provision of essential medical equipment to local families, development of support services in Canberra, school and weekend sports programs for kids with severe mobility limitations and respite opportunities.  A good result from the car show is important to this work and we’d be very thankful for your support to help make this happen.

In short the event is set for 10am to 3pm on Saturday, 24 March at the Belconnen Bowling Club, Beetaloo st Hawker.  Public entry will be by gold coin donation.

Entrants can/should arrive from 8.30 am and entry will be by donation (we’d suggest $10 which will be tax deductible).  There will be awards for the top six as chosen by sponsors which include Shannons and Thrifty so they should be pretty good.  Enquiries can be directed to me (and pre registrations for the day would be welcome).

There will be a bbq, coffee and drinks available.  We’ll hold a 50/50 raffle on the day as well: 50% per cent of the kitty goes to the winner and 50% to the charity.  We also have security arranged for the event by one of our regular supporters, Elite Security.

Thank you for your support.

Cheers
