VVCMCC Annual Presentation Dinner
Saturday, 25 August 2012

This year we held the Annual Presentation Dinner at the Australia Spanish Club.

Around 50 people booked in and from all accounts, we all had a great time and we very well fed. Many thanks to Chris and his crew for hosting and providing a fabulous feast and thanks to Dick Holland for setting it all up.

To start the evening off, Mick Gentleman and Peter Toet presented the trophies (thanks to Bill Lewis for checking the calculations for the results). For those new to the Club, we allocate points to all members based on the age of the machine you ride on the runs. Those with the most points in each class (see table here), get a trophy in the form of an engraved crystal wine glass.

Craig Mill got the most points overall after attending all the runs on offer for the year and won the Morisset Trophy, a perpetual trophy which now sits proudly on the cabinet in the lounge room.

We also recognise the contributions of members to the club and award a Clubman of the Year award – a Whisky decanter and glass set as well as a perpetual trophy. This year the Committee could not split 2 members and awarded both the Clubman of the Year: Dave Phillis for his numerous volunteering for the back up trailer throughout the year as well as his assistance at events and to Geoff Duddy for his numerous volunteering for BBQ cheffing which would put the Masterchef contestants to shame.

The club is very proud that we are able to offer free BBQs for our members and have the peace of mind by having a back up trailer. It allows more members to bring out their older machines and enables the club to hold runs to places other than pubs and cafes.

Thanks to all how came along for the night, and we look forward to next year’s presentation dinner.
